Learning Zones

The learning zone is where the majority of online courses, training and discussing will take place. It's important that the layout reflects these activities. Desks do not need to be any bigger than that required for a pc, keyboard and any supporting materials.

Operators chairs should be comfortable and height adjustable.

Try to avoid situating desks around the perimeter of the room, as this means that everyone has their back to the rest of the room. And remember, facing a wall is not exactly the most inspiring view when learning.

If possible, create clusters of three or four desk configurations. This allows learners to face inward, giving them a feeling that they are part of something rather then remote or isolated. It also, promotes interaction between learners and encourages conversation, making the whole experience more enjoyable.
