Breakout Areas

The is the term for an area with no specific purpose but can be used for any of the following purposes :

  • Informal discussions
  • Having a coffee and a chat
  • One-to-one meetings

If space permits the breakout area should offer you a degree of flexibility within the centre to cater for any variety of supporting activities. Having a separate area for this purpose is important as you can leave behind your activity and focus on whatever you want to discuss, free from any constraint that a workstation or reception area may impose.

To compliment the breakout experience it would be a good idea to offer refreshments such as a water dispenser or coffee. These seem like small details but they are part of adopting an overall approach and go a long way to making your visitors feel at ease.
