Workstation

Selecting the right workstation is important as it has to accommodate the different sizes and abilities of visitors to the centre. There are various physical considerations to bear in mind. This will help ensure learners maintain a comfortable working position, reducing back strain, repetitive muscle fatigue and eye strain.

To reduce or eliminate the above potential problems the following features should be included in any workstation where possible:

  • Adjustable operators chair
  • Chair with independent back support
  • Adjustable table
  • Foot rest
  • Wrist support
  • Document holder
  • Adequate laydown space
  • Height adjustable monitor
