We are pleased to announce the launch of the learndirect scotland Tasters.

These bite-sized chunks of online learning of less than 3 hours each are available through the learningbytes catalogue in Skillnet with suggested face to face sessions to support these.

Learners can be guided by your selected tutor and can work on their own, at the computer, in the learning centre or at home.  Each Taster has a suggested delivery outline including an induction session. 

Tasters are being specifically targeted at individuals earning less than £15000 a year and we are initially launching nine different options:

• Care Taster – covers activities to help learners understand care provision and the types of work associated with it.
• Construction Taster – includes a virtual 3-D building site where the learner acts as the site manager.
• Construction Small Business Management Taster – gives learners the perfect grounding in all the things needed to get their business on the road.
• Creativity Taster – helps learners generate new ideas and explore the potential of those they already have.
• Return to Study Taster – shows learners some new ways of studying that may be totally different to the way they’ve learnt before.
• Return to Work Taster – covers activities to help learners with the skills they need to get back to work including CV preparation, interview techniques and application skills.
• Teleskills Taster – gives learners an idea of what’s involved in a career in teleskills.
• Time Management Taster – covers activities to help learners understand how to manage time, develop a plan, overcome challenges and organise time.
• Tourism Taster – gives learners an idea of what’s involved in a career in the tourism industry.
