Integrating Employment and Skills pilot

Thanks to all the learning centres who signed up to take part in the IES pilot, which sees dedicated Skills Development Scotland advisors located in Jobcentre Plus offices across Fife, Eyemouth, High Riggs (Edinburgh City Centre), Hamilton, Bellshill, Airdrie, Dumfries & Galloway, Paisley, Port Glasgow, Parkhead and Glasgow City Centre.

As well as offering redundancy and careers advice, clients are also signposted to the range of services offered by our network of branded learning centres.

Joint workshops have been held across all pilot areas with Skills Development Scotland and Job Centre Plus staff, and the next step is to invite these staff along to your Regional Learning Groups so you can help them to shape the offer and appropriate methods of referral that are right for your centre.

Skills Development Scotland and Jobcentre Plus have made a firm commitment to work together to ensure our individual customers are supported, in increasingly challenging economic circumstances, to achieve sustainable employment and career progression.
